The Pixel Perfect resource pack Minecraft 1.8.8 helps to improve the appearance of many blocks and items in Minecraft though it is just 16x resolution. Author inserts barriers between all blocks that makes stone, dirt, etc have obvious black lines in the borders and look like glass paned and blocks.
In Pixel Perfect, things have the best look may be name the various ore and gem blocks. Players can easily difference lapis, iron and other resources because the traditional ore block is replaced by a large, singular icon which represents the resource in the block. For example, iron ore chunks are added a big iron ingot, so if you are in the dark, you can quickly find it.
When out of blocks, the other textures in this pack are quite frightening, if you want to know that, look at an old pig. These textures are very terrible, their face has just two empty, black holes in the position of eyes and a flat mouth. You can absolutely image to the electrical outlets when looking at them.
